American Idol contestant Casey Abrams has been discharged from hospital.
The show?s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe revealed the news and asked fans to send ?positive thoughts? his way.
The 20 year old singer from Illinois, missed last Thursday?s results show and while the show was on air, Ryan Seacrest announced that he was being treated in hospital yet again.
It has since been revealed that the star is suffering from ulcerative colitis- a form of irritable bowel syndrome. This specific form causes sores on the colon and intestine.
Lythgoe took to Twitter last night to tell his followers:
?Casey came out of hospital this afternoon. I hope he doesn?t have to go back. Send positive thoughts! Thank you.?
Abrams previously tweeted the show boss, to tell him that he had watched the entire show in hospital. He said:
?Wish I could have been there, but it was stil very nerve racking AND enjoyable on TV. 
(sic)?
Casey should be well enough to perform this Wednesday, when the top 12 will choose from songs that were released the year they were born.
Former winner Lee DeWyze and American supergroup The Black Eyed Peas will showcase their latest singles results show.
