Monday night's Dancing with the Stars episode was all about redemption as each set of couples was given a second chance to make a first impression on the audience and judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.

After dancing either the quickstep or the jive, the contestants' scores were added to last week's points. The total will be combined with the viewers' votes to determine who'll be the first of the season to go.

Keep reading to find out which stars had judges holding up big numbers ? and who'll be counting on votes to get them through season 12's first elimination.

The Frontrunners: Three couples earned the night's best scores: Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke; Romeo and Chelsea Hightower; and Hines Ward and Kym Johnson all earned 23 points for the night. "That was amazing," Carrie Ann said of Ward's quickstep. "I loved it."

Len, meanwhile, declared Romeo's quickstep "the best dance of the night." And Bruno was pleased that Burke turned her wrestler partner from a "beast into a gazelle."

Slipped Slightly: Last week's top scorer is still atop the leaderboard with a two-week total of 45 out of 60 points, but Ralph Macchio's jive wasn't as well received as his foxtrot. Len thought he "overdid" the performance this week while Inaba told him, "You have to be sharper."

Kirstie Alley proved she's in it to win it ? and admitted she was also in it to lose weight. "You are so in your element," Carrie Ann said after her strong performance. "I love watching you dance." Bruno told her not to worry about the weight, because, he said, "You've got talent."

Stuck in the Middle: Kendra Wilkinson, Chelsea Kane and Petra Nemcova got some positive comments from the judges ? but will their modest scores be enough to keep them out of the bottom? "I saw more than the choreography," Carrie Ann told Kendra, who earned 19 points. "There was a newfound elegance." Chelsea's fun but risky jive earned her just 18 points because the judges thought it lacked jive content. And Petra, who earned 18 points, was "stunning to look at," according to Carrie Ann, but the jive is "difficult with really long legs like yours," she said.

In the Danger Zone: The night's lowest scores ? 17 points out of 30 ? went to Sugar Ray Leonard, Wendy Williams and Mike Catherwood. "You're in jeopardy," Len said of the boxing legend's jive. "It lacked refinement."

Wendy showed improvement by showing more personality. Said Carrie Ann: "That's what we wanted to see!" And the guy they call "Psycho Mike" on the radio is still on the bottom of the leaderboard. "Better than last week, but don't get excited; it's still a bit rough," said Len, who admitted, "I was smiling the whole way through it."

The season's first live results show will air Tuesday (9 p.m. ET) on ABC ? but who will be the first to go?
