Sarah Silverman to Appear on The Good Wife

Sarah Silverman will guest-star on an upcoming episode of The Good Wife, members of the series' writing team announced.

The 40-year-old comedian will appear in Episode 22 of the CBS legal drama's second season. There's no word yet on her role. (Maybe Lockhart Gardner's newest client? Or an outspoken political pundit?) Silverman, who most recently starred on her self-titled Comedy Central series, has appeared on Monk and The Simpsons.

Silverman is just the latest in a long line of marquee guest stars that have appeared on The Good Wife this season, including Michael J. Fox and America Ferrera.

Besides their affinity for peanut M&Ms, @GoodWifeWriters revealed more dream guest stars like Nathan Fillion and Jason Segel on the show during a live tweeting session with fans Tuesday night. The writers also said Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver would be their pick to play the ex-wife of cunning campaign manager Eli Gold (Alan Cumming).

Are you excited for Silverman's role? Who would you like to see?

The Good Wife airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS.
