The 'Somewhere' director will tie the knot at father Francis Ford Coppola's 19th century villa, Palazzo Margherita, in Bernalda, Italy, her representative confirmed to Us Weekly magazine.

The 'Godfather' director Francis Ford is currently rebuilding and renovating the property for the nuptials.

Sofia, 40, and rocker Thomas, 34, already have two children together, Romy, four, and 12-month-old Cosima.

This will be the second marriage for Sofia as she was once married to fellow director Spike Jonze, who she divorced in 2003.

Sofia - who has also worked as a model, photographer and TV presenter - is often regarded as a style icon because of her love of classic clothes but recently said she tries not to impose her look on Romy.

She said: "I'm just thinking about how my four-year-old is really into pink and purple and sparkles right now and I don't want to inhibit her by forcing navy-blue clothes on her.

"I have to not be a snob when it comes to toddlers."
