Jessica Alba came to the nation?s capital on Tuesday for Senator Frank R. Lautenberg?s press conference in support of the Safe Chemicals Act. She was on hand to urge members of the US Congress to introduce a new law limiting toxic chemicals in baby products.
The Fantastic Four star first became aware of the potentially harmful chemicals used in everyday items when she was preparing to give birth to her first child Honor in 2008. Jessica dressed conservatively chic to minimize her baby bump by wearing a black lace high-waisted skirt, a cream blouse and matching blazer.

?When I was pregnant with Honor, I did all of this research and I found out that all of these products have toxic chemicals in them that are in and around our kids and us and they?re causing unnecessary harm on our families,? said Alba.
?I was like, this is nuts, from baby bottles to baby toys, to pacifiers to diapers, and it?s completely unregulated, these toxins that companies are allowed to put in these products and they?re basically just fillers,? she added.
