And The Next President Of Haiti Is?

Things might not have worked out for Wyclef Jean, but ironically enough, a DIFFERENT pop star has been elected President of Haiti.

Popular singer Michel Martelly, aka "Sweet Micky," has won the presidency of Haiti with 67.7 percent of the vote.

Some of the major issues that Martelly promised to address while campaigning include:

- Free education for all children

- A renovation of the agricultural sector

- Restoration of the disbanded army

Following his official inauguration on May 14, he'll be faced with the tremendous challenge of continuing to rebuild the country, after last year's devastating earthquake.

We continue to send our thoughts, prayers, and support to the people of Haiti. We truly hope everything goes well with their new leadership, and we wish them the absolute best!
