Kate Hudson, Matt Bellamy engaged

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage. Well, sort of.

Kate Hudson's baby may come before she can actually tie the knot with rocker Matthew Bellamy, but the couple made it official with an engagement that Hudson revealed to Matt Lauer on the Today show this morning.

Lauer happened to "notice" the humongous square-cut diamond on the actress' ring finger during their chat and inquired about when and how she got it. Hudson confirmed that Bellamy popped the question about a week ago with a "very sweet and very romantic" proposal.

"He's a beautiful man and I'm very excited," she gushed. Hudson is expecting their first child this summer and is already mom to 7-year-old Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson.
