For stars, spring and romance are in the air

Spring ? a time of rebirth and renewal, a time for a fresh start. For some stars, it's a welcome opportunity to leave their problems in the past and turn toward the future. USA TODAY takes a look at stars who seem to have a newfound spring in their step.

Recent recharge:�Don't cry for this recent divorce�. Johansson seems to have found comfort in the form of Sean Penn. Could a May-December relationship be on the horizon? The actress was snapped by TMZ with her foot on Penn's lap as the two had lunch at Cuban restaurant Versailles in Los Angeles Feb. 28. Penn, 50, is divorced from actress Robin Wright.

Eva Longoria, 36

Moving on from:�Longoria filed for divorce from NBA star Tony Parker in November, citing irreconcilable differences.
Recent recharge:�Despite recently telling the April issue of Allure magazine that talking about the divorce makes her "want to cry. It's been hard," the Desperate Housewives actress seems to be making an effort to move on. "I'm in a transition stage, settling into a new routine ? and I welcome it." That new routine has included a new friend to pal around with. Who exactly is the lucky guy? It's Penelope Cruz's younger brother, Eduardo Cruz. Longoria and Cruz, a singer on the Interscope label, were photographed kissing at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. in early March.

Ryan Reynolds, 34

Moving on from:�His split from wife of two years, Scarlett Johansson, who has seemingly moved on as well.
Recent recharge:�Reynolds, who was named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, has been spotted with German model Agnes Fischer. The duo have been photographed in South Africa on and off the set of Safe House, in which Reynolds stars opposite Denzel Washington. Fischer has a small role in the film, People magazine reports. Reynolds is also keeping his career red-hot: He has Green Lantern out in June ? he stars in the title role ? and on March 31 he'll receive the CinemaCon Male Star of the Year Award at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Halle Berry, 44

Moving on from:�A messy custody battle over her 3-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, 34. Berry dated the French-Canadian model from November 2005 until their breakup last spring.
Recent recharge:�Berry officially stepped out with her new boyfriend, actor Olivier Martinez, in October at the Carousel of Hope Gala, but she has been keeping her head up lately by staying in the spotlight with Martinez. The Academy Award-winning actress and her French beau, 45, have painted the town red, attending Oscar parties, going on lunch and dinner dates and taking long strolls on the beach. The pair met on the set of their upcoming thriller, Dark Tide.
